Before I fell in love with designing spaces, I experienced the impact of a well-designed home firsthand. After an injury left my dad paralyzed, my mom was set with the task of renovating our family home. Simple changes made a huge difference in our everyday lives, not just physically easier for him, but also mentally & emotionally for the family as a whole.
Later, I found myself deep in research of the psychology behind design, not only in functionality & meeting physical needs, but also how concepts of colour theory, light, and the use of natural elements can intentionally create spaces that feel good as good as they look.
Today, at Michaela’s Homes & Interiors, we seamlessly weave those concepts into designs built upon your unique space, personal style, and vision for making your house a home. And wow, do I love creating that for you.

MY STYLE INFLUENCES
I’m drawn to the cozy, soul-filled charm of English and Irish country homes, so I focus on creating timeless, inviting spaces defined by warmth and livability. I believe functional, everyday items should be beautiful—displayed, enjoyed, and curated for real life. My style layers classic colours with textured neutrals and punchy patterns; think slipcovers, rich wools and linens, stripes, and florals. Inspired by a Nancy Meyers-meets-Ina Garten simple elegance, I want every room I design to feel collected, comfortable, and naturally welcoming.
BEST CURATED FIND
An antique glass hutch! I love sourcing vintage pieces that serve a true daily purpose. This particular piece balances character-rich charm with functional storage—equally perfect for housing guest room linens as it is for showcasing a fave shoe collection.
FAVOURITE PROJECT TO DATE
A main-floor transformation of a custom timber-frame home—this project proved that you don't always need a major structural renovation to completely change how a space feels. By layering new lighting, tailored drapery, and curated area rugs alongside custom built-ins for a designated library space, the home was completely reborn. We refurnished the space with a balance of brand-new pieces and existing furniture, reupholstered, showing just how much of a punch a thoughtful mix of soft furnishings, hard finishes, and curated details can pack.
DREAM PROJECT
